FEATURED POET: Richard Katrovas

Richard Katrovas engaged a student audience at Seattle University on October 17 when he read poems reflective of his two-continent interests: He teaches in the MFA program at the University of New Orleans and is the founding academic director of the Prague Summer Seminars.

Scarcely a month after September 11, Katrovas's poems tapped into fears, shock, and the human capacity to respond and unite.

Counterbalance was pleased to collaborate with the Seattle University Creative Writing Program and its director, Edwin Weihe, in presenting this reading.
